Swiss pick 'Giochi d'estate' for Oscar race
BERLIN -- Rolando Colla's "Giochi d'estate" (Summer season Games) remains selected as Switzerland's candidate for your foreign- language film Oscar. The arrival-of-age film, which bowed in Venice, concentrates on a teenage boy fighting by getting an abusive father and dealing with first love throughout summer season holiday on Italy's Tuscany coast. The pic was selected having a special jury and introduced within the Delemont-Hollywood film festival in Delsberg. "Summer season Games" was produced by Zurich-based Peacock Film. The Swiss entry may enjoy the 60,000 Swiss francs ($66,813) financial contribution for just about any advertising campaign, in line with the Federal Culture Office. The deadline for Oscar foreign-language film distribution is Monday. The Academy of motion Picture Arts and Sciences will unveil nominations on Jan. 24 as well as the champion will probably be introduced within the 84th honours ceremony within the Kodak Theater in Hollywood on Feb. 26.
