Whst should I learn for the film industry?

I don't have the money to attend film school(and I've heard it's not
needed) after I graduate, but would like a job as either a
screenwriter, editor, etc.
I've taken creative writing classes and an electronic media class and
I just got Adobe After Effects CS5 and will be learning how to use
that for a while. Is there anything else I should be learning/doing?
